Here we go again – growing up and all. It’s been a rough couple of weeks for our little girl, but she has tried hard to be her usual sunny self.

Ahem, someone got a hold of their sticker and messed it up before it could be put on. So I made my own with some sticker paper I had. Hey, it works, right?
Here’s a perfect shot of that one tooth!
Last month I put her in a standing position for pictures. This month, she got there herself!
Then she decided to show off and stand with no hands – but she is totally leaning up against the couch, I’m not letting her grow up that fast!

She’s finding plenty of ways to move her stroller around – standing and crawling!
And she thinks she is BIG – Logan’s books and toys are hers, right?
- Height and Weight: I’ll update next week with our real info from her official 9 month appointment, but she is pretty tiny. She weighted 16lbs 13oz. on Thursday. Yes, that’s less than she weighed last month, by 5oz. The doctor is not concerned since she’s been sick, but we’ll see how we’re doing Monday.
- Sleep – Still bad. She can go down on her own, but she keeps waking up 2-3 times at night. It’s fine when it’s a quick wake up, but the past 2 weeks they’ve been LONG wide awake stretches.
- Food – I just changed her to 3 meals a day. She’s doing really well with solids. She’s still loving purees, yogurt, and is getting more into finger foods. She’s had pears I cut up, puffs, cheerios, small pieces of chicken, graham crackers, and some yogurt melts. She is supposed to be getting 20 – 30 oz. of formula/breast milk at this point. I think she’s probably close to 20. Most days she gets about 15 or so from formula. Since she’s been sick I’ve been lucky to get 8 oz. in her. She just will not take a full bottle. Yesterday she took 3 full (6oz) bottles. Today? 3 3oz. or so, and one 6oz. She’s still nursing in the evenings and twice or so at night. But, I honestly think that is almost over. There is just not a lot there, and I know it’s totally for comfort at this point. Since we’re trying to get her weight up I haven’t been taking the night sessions away, but I think within the next week we are going to be completely finished nursing (Sob, sob, tears, sob – but we have had a GOOD run, and I am going to try really hard to have no guilt. 6 months of solid breast milk, 3 months of some breast milk, I have nothing to feel bad about – repeated 10 times a day to myself).
- Gross Motor – Uh yeah, she crawls FAST. She can pull herself up to standing on just about anything. She’s also getting into the sitting position on her own, which stinks for the sleep issues.
- Fine Motor – She is still doing really well with her pincer grasp. She’s starting to wave and we are working hard on clapping (though those aren’t really fine motor). She bangs toys together, and pulls things out of a bucket. She can put anything in her mouth (not a skill I enjoy!).
- Language – I was laughing so hard when I was trying to put her to bed last night because she just would not stop talking to me! Tons and tons of babbles, but she definitely has to warm up.
- Likes – Mortimer the Moose has gained popularity as the car seat toy this month. She loves to be with mommy. But, she also finds daddy quite reassuring when it’s just him and other people! She likes her play table a lot and loves when her baby doll laughs. She still loves her Hannah Montana song too, and playing “Ride a Little Horsey.” She is obsessed with Abby, and follows her around when she is in the room. She loves, loves, loves her Logan. She also thinks it is hysterical when Logan and I dance (we are pros, I’m not sure what she thinks is so funny!).
- Dislikes – Sleeping through the night, having toys taken away from her, mommy walking away, being contained!
It’s hard to believe that it’s almost time to set a first birthday party date for our little girl! While it’s been hard having her sick I have enjoyed the extra snuggles and the long days with her over break.
Now, if we could just get her taking some bottles better, we’d be all good!
