Thankful on Thursday

- Um, sorry...you got no post last night because it didn't work, and tonight well, Aubrey is throwing up. Good times here! 

- I'm super thankful that Peter and I can work as a team when there is vomit involved. 

-Also, it's times like this that I am thankful for the fact that very little grosses me out after 13 years of teaching 6 and 7 year olds. 

-Um, I'm thankful only one person is sick at the moment!

I could title this post "Sob Story" because I am totally in shock, awe, and horrified that my baby is going to be FOUR tomorrow. What in the world??? How? How did that happen? 

We said goodnight to a 3 year old for the last time tonight...

Happy Easter 2016

Forgive my small blog tonight...too many words the last few posts! 

Yay Easter bunny! Bunny took a low key approach and it was well received because apparently all they really wanted was a chocolate bunny. 

Hershey's chocolate is always my favorite because their plain chocolate is not processed with their nut chocolate. Win. 

According to Logan it is tradition that we go to my parents house for Easter dinner. While the rest of us didn't really realize this, it does in fact appear to be true. 

They also happen to have a superb yard for egg hunts. 

And um, for playing of course! 

Thank you for humoring them and being the pets Grandma and PaPa! 

And for a delicious Easter dinner! Logan was over the moon that there were baked potatoes and salt and pepper (yep) and Aubrey ate all her asparagus. Plus a delicious multicolored bunny cake. So, total win there!

Disney Day 8

Since we woke up in Florida we'll call it day 8. 

We got up at 5am.

We were waiting for a bus to the airport at 6:30.

We ate breakfast and got on a plane around 9.

We ate lunch and got on another plane around 1:30.

We arrived home, thanks to my parents as chauffeurs, around 4:00.

We did 3 loads of laundry, unpacked, and put kids to bed at 7:00. 

Because wow...lack of sleep! 

And we are so, so thankful for a safe end to our phenomenal trip. 

Disney Day 7!

Well, all good things...

Um, I managed to not cry today? It was close, I almost boo hoo-ed on the bus. But I held it together! 

It was another early day for us. Would you believe we rode Toy Story twice and Little Mermaid twice before 8am? 

Peter and Aubrey perfected the silly faces for the camera shot on Toy Story! 

I am so surprised they loved Little Mermaid as much as they did, but it was a hit! We rode it 4 times total at least this week, More for Peter and Aubrey!

We also did the Laugh Floor this morning, where they showed Peter's picture on the big screen as a "Garduate of Monsters University"! 

Then the boys did Stitch's Great Escape, which we heard was a little scary (and it was) while Aubrey and I had a snack. 

After that they humored me and rode the Tea Cups! 

Then we did the Winnie the Pooh ride, which was better than expected! And they put on a show of love in line. 

After that, carousel time! 

Then, once again...Mine Train! Aubrey's love for this roller coaster is just too adorable! 

It started getting crowded faster today...Good Friday and all. But with fast passes we did okay!

We finished up with lunch in Beast's castle! We tried the gray stuff, it was delicious! 

And then one last ride, another trip on Peter Pan! 

Tonight we packed, ate dinner here at the hotel and walked around a bit. Then we of course had to do some final silliness! 

A final bit of applause for Peter, who has been a trooper this week. I was so, so worried about his back, but he did great. The key for us was definitely having 7 days so we could spread it out and have rest/down time, not feel like we had to rush the whole time. I think we all benefitted from that! 

We have had the BEST time! But don't you worry, the posts aren't over yet! I still have to get all the pictures from Peter's phone and some of the Memory Maker pictures. So more to come, for sure! Oh, and a return trip, 3 years down the road!

Disney Day...6? I think?

Whew, it is a whirlwind! But we are still having a ton of fun. Today we did Epcot. I knew this wouldn't be at the top of our list when we finished but we had to get it in there! 

We started the day out early, getting there at 8am. Logan and I rode Mission: Space first thing. He was my trusty pilot! Then we all went under the sea with Nemo! 

(He was much happier than he appears here!)

Next up we met Baymax! And yes, there is a person in there! 

After that we did Spaceship Earth, you know, the ride through the big ball! 

We also rode some other rides like Figment (ride through your senses/imagination). Little known fact that Aubrey is terrified of skunks. Odd, I know. And of course on this ride they sprayed skunk smell at us! There were a few other little exhibits we walked through too. 

Then Logan and I did test track, where we got to design our own car and then race it around a track in a simulator! 

It was the flower and garden festival, so lots of cute picture opportunities. 

We had lunch in Mexico! 

Then we came back to the hotel for a bit and after that headed back to Epcot for dinner in Italy! 

We had yummy pizza and a little wine tasting at Via Napoli!

Then we came back out and made our way to Wngland so Logan could take a picture for his teacher! 

Then icons giant butterflies, my greatest fear! 

We had planned to stay for the fireworks tonight, but then this happened around 7...

Soooo glad we caught the bus back to the hotel because it has been raining and thundering ever since! 

I still have to get memory maker pictures and the ones off Peter's phone, but this blogging has been great for our memories! We are excited to finish strong tomorrow at Magic Kingdom!

Disney Day 5!

I am trying not to get sad that we are getting closer to the end! This has been such a fabulous vacation! 

Today was our Hollywood Studios Day. We had one big mission: Jedi Training. Thanks to some message board friends I knew we could get in early with a breakfast reservation and get signed up ahead of the crowd. So we were up at 6 and at Hollywood Studios by 7:40. Logan and I made a mad dash back to sign up at 7:55 (park opened at 9 for others). We were third in line! Whew! 

We got signed up and then got to enjoy a yummy breakfast and meet some friends! 

Three cheers for Disney Junior! It was fun to meet these pals we have been watching since Logan was 2! 

Peter and Logan left a little early and were the first in line for Star Tours! Then we made our way over to check Logan in for his training and get spots to watch him battle! The pro pics are way better so more to come when I can download those, but I was so proud of my guy (big stage in the park!). 

They of course had to train first (about 20 kids in each show, 15 shows a day - only about 300 slots!). 

That's our boy fighting Darth Vader! 

It was so, so cool. I can't wait to share the other pics! He was on cloud 9 all day. 

Then we got to meet Cheebacca! 

Then, Ky Lo Ren. And Aubrey, good younger sister that she is, knows her Star Wars. And she wanted NOTHING to do with the bad guy! No picture, she wasn't having it! The boys though wee ready to face the enemy. There were great sound effects at the meet and greets too! 

And we saw an e-wok! Andstormtroopers! 

 

Then we did Toy Story Midway Mania which was a super fun 3-D ride. After that Peter and Aubrey did Muppets 3-D and Logan and I did Star Tours again. 

We ate lunch at Backlot Express, complete with Star Wars cupcakes (pics on Peter's phone!). Then we split up again - girls to the Frozen Sing Along and boys to the Indiana Jones stunt show. 

The Frozen sing along was super fun! I loved seeing Aubrey sing and there were some of our favorite characters too! 

Apparently however, sing alongs are very tiring because while I waited for Peter and Logan to finish up this kid slept in the stroller for almost an hour! 

Then we came back to the hotel around 3, rested a bit and hit the pool! 

We ate dinner here and are going to bed early for another early morning, this time at Epcot!
