Prepare Yourself

The cuteness of these pictures may overwhelm you. We had a great lazy day at home (complete with a shopping trip for summer clothes!) and Logan was feeling quite photogenic. Seriously, how could you not love this kid?

 

He looks like a giant in this picture, doesn’t he? I know it’s the angle, but he’s getting so big! And he wore his shoes for the first time today – just to keep his socks on! This was early in the morning when it was a little chilly still.

He adores the bears on his pack-n-play…which he only sits in while we’re doing something, but works well when we travel. They always guarantee a smile!

Here are the latest videos of the monkey...of course as soon as I started taping him in the bathtub he decided not to splash anymore. However, there are some great smiles in that one. The exersaucer one isn't too exciting, but he just looks so intent!

Fun at Home

Well, it just took 2 hours to get Logan to sleep, which is unheard of in our house (he goes down really easily usually, just wakes up in the middle of the night too much!) so this is going to be just pictures…I promised I’d blog each day of spring break! I took some great videos today, perhaps I can get them posted tomorrow!

Road Trip

We made it back from Pittsburgh! Logan was a great traveler. He slept about half the trip both ways. We only stopped twice on the way up and once on the way back! I honestly was really surprised. He did get fussy at points, but luckily Sophie  the giraffe was there to make him feel better.

We had a great time in PA. The F’s are such an awesome family, and it was  a great place to go for Logan’s first full weekend. I was busy with E’s shower and bachlorette so Peter had Logan by himself for much longer than he ever has before. Plus he put him to bed by himself. This was huge because Logan has never gone to sleep without nursing.  I wasn’t worried about it because Peter puts him down for naps so I knew he would get to sleep eventually, but I was just worried that it would be tough. I left milk for them and he did awesome. He went to sleep after he had a bottle. He did wake up twice before I got home, and Peter had to warm up bottles for him. At one point he told Mr. and Mrs. F, “This really makes me appreciate what Shannon does every night!” He has always been appreciative and wanted to help, but nights have really been my thing because of nursing.  So, time with daddy was great and I know Peter really enjoyed it too.

I on the other hand, was out child free! It was pretty strange to not put him to bed and be out past 8pm. We actually did not get home until 3am. Can you believe it?

There we are, out on the town! No, that beer is not mine. We had a great night celebrating with E! She is going to make such a beautiful bride and I am so honored to be a part of her big day! She is awesome with Logan and he loved seeing her again.

Today was the first official day of spring break and I had an ever exciting dentist appointment. L0gan has been a bit out of sorts today, not quite himself. I think he’s ready for a quiet day at home and I am too.

My goal is to blog each day while we’re on spring break, I’ve been so slack lately! Logan wasn’t the most photogenic today, but he had on his “big boy clothes” so I have to share some pics!

The Cuteness Continues

Not a lot of time to write, but I know you just cannot wait to see some recent Logan pics! We have a busy week this week leading up to E’s wedding shower weekend (big trip to PA for the Z family and bestie Aunt S! ). We had a great weekend with the warm weather, and Logan is just changing SO much. We have an almost 5 month old…seriously? How did that happen? Enjoy the cuteness!

I’m Back!

Never fear world, Logan’s feeling much better!

Ha, he looks chunky in this picture! He is still his long and lean self, but according to our home scale up to 13lbs. 15oz…probably a little higher than the docs, but still WOW! Still only puts him around the 20th percentile.

So anyway, yes, he’s feeling much better. He is however, still not sleeping. Meaning this mommy needs to go to bed now, while he is asleep!  I leave you with some more pictures of the boy feeling better…

This is how he looks about 80% of the day, because he kicks his feet so much. Those miracle socks people told me about? Apparently they can’t stand up to Logan kicks! We managed to totally lose a pair of socks at the mall the other day. They were on his feet, then suddenly they weren’t!

Hope everybody has a great Friday! Please keep your fingers crossed for us for good sleep…I’ve only had 6 hours combined in the past 2 nights! I have to stay up so I can pump one last time (he’s gonna owe me big time when he gets older!) and then I’m hoping for an easy night!

We love to share!

Oh, our little family of four (what? Abby totally counts!) has really learned how to share! Our illnesses that is…Last time Logan had a cold he shared it with his daddy and grandma F. This time it’s not clear who started it. Could have come from daycare, could have come home with mommy from work (because her 24 kids love to share too!), but now the three human members of the family all have it. Runny noses, sore throats, even yucky stomachs. SO much fun! Mommy is probably doing the best of all of us, but that’s a good thing, because with bfing there is nothing that’s safe to take. So, we’re spending the day in our jammies. Well, daddy is in the office working from home, but he’s still in his jammies too!

Hahaha, see, starting to feel better…

He’s definitely doing better today, not himself at all yet though. He’ll get about an hour of happy time in then another 45-60 min. of cranky coughing time before his next nap (while mommy tries to convince him that if he went to sleep earlier he would feel better faster!).

Rough night of nonsleep last night, we even gave him a little Tylenol to try to help him. It helped his cough, which was keeping him awake at first, but then he was still up every 1.5 – 2 hours. One of these days we’ll sleep…I’m sure it would help our immune system!

I know, We're MIA...

There has certainly been a lack of posting lately on here. And the thing is, I really love blogging...so I really wish I could figure out a way to do it more. Hopefully I'll get there!

Right now we have a sick baby. Logan started with a cough on Thursday, moved into a runny nose on Saturday, more fussy than usual. Then last night when he woke up at 11, I knew something was wrong (sadly, not because he woke up at 11, that's totally normal). His cough sounded horrible, he was so unhappy...we nursed, went back to sleep...repeated at 1:30 and 3:30, with me getting more and more worried about his cough. At 4 he was having a hard time getting back to sleep so Peter went in there and he called me in and said he was worried about his cough. I agreed...so Peter said he would stay home with him and take him to the doctor. Logan slept a few more hours on Peter's chest, but was just SO not himself. I had a really hard time leaving this morning, it was so hard to leave him when he was sick.

The doctor said he has a cold (of course) and the cough just sounds bad because he is hoarse. She also thinks he has a sore throat. Well, Peter and I do too, so that's great. While I am glad it is just a cold, he definitely does not feel well. He was fussy with Peter all day, crying a ton. He isn't eating well either, which the doc said was normal with a cold.

I'm going to stay home with him tomorrow, to let him recuperate. The hoarse cry is just SO sad...he's sleeping on me right now and I'm hoping he gets some much needed rest.

He weighed 13lbs. 9 oz at the doc today, he's getting so big! Think nice healthy thoughts for us, please!

Mommy Brain

This morning was a supreme example of the fact that mommy brain really does exist. I got all ready to do my first pump of the morning at school, before the kids got there. Got everything all hooked up and started surfing the net. I don’t look at the bottles while I pump because that gets me too stressed about how much I’m getting. So, I finally look down 5 minutes later…and there is not a bottle attached to my right pump…yep that’s right, all of the milk was flowing onto the floor. UGH!!!! I was so upset! The first 5 minutes are by far the best results and it was all over the floor. I totally cried over spilled milk. Probably 2 oz…so tragic.
