Merry, Merry Christmas!

I know, I know, I owe the blog some long blogs. But we have had a loooooong day! I have pictures uploaded from our visit with Grandma and Grandpa K, Christmas eve and morning pictures, all kinds of fun. But tonight I will leave you with just our smiling little family. We are so very lucky and blessed in every way imaginable.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Happy Christmas Eve! No long post tonight because the elves are hard at work. And by work I mean eating cookies. No, really work. My favorite kind!

2013 - The cell phone side view of the crazy freak out. She calmed down a bit, but I still think the crying is a little funny. Sorry for the torture Aubrey!

Will 2014 finally be the year of no criers? I would be so bored! 

For the record, she was totally FINE after we were done, I promise. She still adores Santa. Just not up close!

Stylin'

I just realized if we're not friends on Facebook then you didn't see this awesomeness: 

Ta-da! This is the stunning outfit Aubrey put on last weekend. At 7:15am. Because who doesn't get the urge to pull on their bathing suit bottoms over their pjs in the middle of December? 

She's so far beyond me with her wardrobe skills already. There's just no stopping her. 

I would like her to wear her bathing suit this way when she's about 17. Fully covered. Perfect! 

Thankful on Thursday

-Happy things for lots of people. It's a good season for that. 

-Last day of school before break tomorrow! 

-croup disappeared (thank you one dose of steroid) as quickly as it appeared. 

-My class holiday party is done! And we did not burn down the building (there was a toaster oven involved. You never know!). 

-I have gotten to wear jeans all week as a present from my principal. Glorious. 

-12 stay home days on the horizon. That's good stuff.

Christmas Magic

I wrapped a whole lot of presents last night. And I asked Peter if I should put them under the tree and he said sure. 

You know what happened at 6:30am, right? Logan wanted to open ALL the presents. Yes, now, of course. And we are so mean and would not let him. 

Today, we got home from swimming and guess what? There was a package! And when I opened it there was a present inside that said the kids should open it NOW! 

Yay! Books! Three brand new beautiful Christmas books! 

It's from the B's, a family I started babysitting for when I was 15. When I started they had 10 month old twins, a 2 year old, and a 7 year old. Yes, it was hard. They lived right across the street from us though, and they were awesome. The youngest girls are now freshman in college! 

I love, love their family. They played a huge part in my life for 5 years, and even beyond that. It's so fun that we are still connected and they can be a part of my kids lives  too! 

And it was really, really nice to let Logan open a Christmas present. A little hint of the fun to come!

It’s good they can look so cute, because nights like last night, when Logan woke up in the middle of the night sobbing and I ran in to find him gasping for breath and croupy? Yeah, those are awesome. He does in fact have croup, my very favorite virus that comes from NOWHERE and bam, slams you in the middle of the night. Steroids from the doc today and he is much better. Aubrey is still rockin the same cold she’s had for a week. And I think it was about 10 days ago that I thought wow, we haven’t been sick in SOOO long!

I am no longer allowed to think.
