Long Weekend in Review

Yes, yes I still have a blog. Sorry people, these ridiculously OLD children are awesome but don't do something new everyday so it's not quite like when they were babies (or, you know, Disney World!). 

Anyway, we had a fun long weekend! Let's see what we were up to...

Saturday started with some physical therapy exercises. It's a team effort. Anna is very serious. 

Then Peter and I got to go see a movie in the awesome at theater in the world, recliner seats for the win!!!

Sunday we said hello to the pool! 

I love that Aubrey had like NO skin showing. Sunbathing win. 

We also had a cookout with our neighbors and I made a patriotic trifle that was awesome but no picture, of course. I did however have patriotic children. Who were not in the mood to take a picture at 10pm (the horror!) when we got back.

Don't worry, I'll make them try again on Fourth of July! 

Today we went strawberry picking with grandma! 

And she took is to Chick Fil A too! How lucky are we? 

(My children are crazies.)

So there you go. Apparently there is lots to blog about, my brain just can't remember to do it! 

14 more days of school!!!! 13 with kids, but who's counting?!?!

Wordless Wednesday: Field Trip!

(And after I got Logan back to school I picked Aubrey up extra early for a special Sweet Frog date by herself!)

Sleepers

No, not like pajamas. Actual children sleeping. 

This one. A rare head above the covers. So sweaty! Love that face so much. 

And this one. 

I just realized I don't think you guys know about "sock hands." Aubrey started itching back in February/March,  and could not stop. She would do it in her sleep too. So we started putting socks on her hands but the little ones kept falling off so Peter gave her a pair of his. And while the itching has stopped she now can't sleep without them if she has short sleeves. Which kind of defeats the purpose of short sleeves? 

I have no idea where she would get random itching from. Who in the world would do that? Yes, it's possible that she and I both get on each other to stop itching, all the time. 

Sleepers. I'm going to be that creepy mom taking pictures of them sleeping the night before they go to college.

Great. Now I'm itching because that is terrifying!

Weekend Photo Dump

Um, Logam started the weekend off by meditating with his classmates at recess. Yes, he led them. This kid! 

We also watched a squirrel for a while on our deck! 

Sequin purse = requirement for grocery shopping, clearly. 

Play date! Play date! Play date! 

I highly suggest you ask this adorable child what a horse says. It is so stinkin' cute! 

Um, for real boy child?

This morning we went to a dance competition for one of my former firsties. It was so fun and the kids were in awe! Aubrey has been "training" ever since! 

After that I got a message from a mom in our neighborhood that they were going to a nearby indoor play space, because, you know...it won't stop raining! So there was lots of fun jumping and playing bumper cars. 

Add in lots of Sunday chores and there's our weekend! No soccer due to rain. We will be playing soccer for 46 years to make it all up. 

18.5 days! Let's do this!

Thankful on Thursday

-20 days. Which means I only have 19 with my class because I get to go on a kindergarten field trip! 

- I also have 2 personal days I haven't used. So maybe it'll be 18! (Because using them all would be too many sub plans!)

- Play date this weekend!

- Random texts from friends that make me smile. Work is high stress right now (the climate in general, not really my actual class) and texts with pictures of smiling children are the best. 

- kid snuggles. There is nothing better. 

- Kindergarten writing. The latest book cover...

- Still so thankful for healthy baby S! And thankful for the conversations he had already led to about belly buttons and cords, because you know Aubrey takes that information and entertains me for hours. Seriously, I adore hearing her talk about "real" stuff. She's so serious!

Look Away

I opened the mailbox today and I was so excited! A box! What could it be? A surprise for me! 

Um...

This wasn't exactly what I had in mind. For me and my new baby? Um, what? It's like they are trying to stir up my uterus. And every single thought I ever had about formula and breastfeeding and being inadequate and WHY IS THAT CUTE BABY SMILING AT ME?!?! 

Message for the day: Don't check the mail. Ever.
