Grandma Day

Somebody got to spend a special day with Grandma F today! Logan gets to eat lunch with her a lot and see her at school when she's subbing, so sometimes Aubrey feels left out. My mom told her they would spend the whole day together - and they did! 

They went to Target (ahem, of course!) to do a little favor for me, got a new dress (of course!), and picked up lunch for Logan. Aubrey had been wanting to eat lunch with him at school all year and she finally got to today! Mom and Logan both said she was pretty much silent - shell shocked. That cafeteria is insanity I tell you! But she saw lots of people while she was at school, including our friend who takes the superhero pictures and let Aubrey practice! 

After lunch they went and got her hair trimmed and her nails done. Soooo cute! 

She felt so special and I think Grandma had fun with the one on one time too! Thank you, thank you Grandma for a special day! 

Dress Up

Playing dress up is a big deal around these parts. We've got quite a collection. And once they get started, they get very into it! Especially a certain little girl. 

Um, she put baby clothes in her top so she could be a mommy. 

Then she dressed up in scarves. Yes, just scarves. 

But she found a fireman! 

Oh my. There really aren't any more words! 

Mother's Day 2016

Happy Mother's Day! My mom is the best. My mother-in-law is the best. My mama friends are the best. I mean really, does it get any better? 

Becoming a mom has been the most profoundly changing thing in my life. I know, I know, it's supposed to be. But for me it was just...BIG. I can't even begin to explain it. It is the most draining yet rewarding thing on the planet. It terrifies me to think that they are growing up yet makes me happy when we have real conversations. Really, being a mom is just the most confusing thing ever. 

Last night we went out to celebrate with my mama! 

Hahaha, wouldn't it be funny if that was from last night?!?! I mean, that face! NO wrinkles. Super blonde hair! Who is that person??? Well, it's me in 2008. Before kids. ;) But my favorite picture of us! Anyway, last night we went to Chuys and then got ice cream and well, how much more fabulous can you get? 

Then today...I got to lay in bed until 9:00! Then I was greeted by fabulous snuggles.  After that there was French toast, then alone time for me to read! So fun! 

After lunch they took me to Lowes to get plants for the garden. 

Sassy and sweet, that's them! We planted cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, edamame (Peter's request...), basil, and strawberries. I'm not so sure about the strawberries, but we shall see! 

What I can tell you for sure is that there was either the worlds biggest worm (like, tremors style) or a snake in the garden and it scared the life out of me. Like I ran and nearly didn't come back. But, alas, I am the mom. So I had to act brave and just plant it. While silently cursing/praying.

So for Mother's Day, I put on no makeup. I grabbed a school shirt and then Logan put on the same one. I looked grungy and dirty at the end, but they still have the best hugs and smiles!  

Peter attempted to make dinner too, by was deterred by some faulty equipment, so we got to order pizza. I mean, how can you not be happy with that?

Thankful on Thursday

- So thankful for my mama! It is so fun to see her at school when she subs and she is doing a great job at it. She also helped me out of a jam this week when I double booked myself and brought me soil to school. She is beyond awesome. 

- Phone calls with the Bestie! We have to schedule our calls, but it's worth it. 

- Hair Plopping. Seriously, it's a real thing for people with curly hair, and it's free, and it gave me a really good hair day this week! 

- This is an awful picture, but for Teacher Appreciation Week my principal made it possible for me to go have lunch with Logan. So fun!

-Aubrey snuggles. She still has enough baby in her to let me pick her up and snuggle all day if I wanted to. I love it! 

-Friday!!! 30 days! After tomorrow...we're in the 20s!!!

Um...what the...Hail?

Because how could I not have that as the title? 

Sorry, no cute kid pics, but we had an insane storm here yesterday! There was wild hail! 

I have seriously never seen anything like it. It was so LOUD! 

That was the pile by our front porch. Most were penny - quarter size but there were definite golf all size ones in there too. 

And looooots of rain! 

That drained quickly, thank goodness. 

And 10 minutes away my parents got a little rain then sun. 

My neighbor took this video inside his house. I thought a window was going to break for sure. Or at least some car damage. Luckily all was okay.

But spring brings summer and summer brings fun, so bring on the spring storms! 

Milwaukee 2016

This weekend we went to Milwaukee to celebrate Grandma B's life. We had a wonderful time sharing memories of her and being with family. Special times for sure!

We ate at Barbiere's, the family restaurant, right away! We looooove garlic bread!!! And everything else! 

We got to play in the pool too - isn't it funny how kids love hotel pools even when they get to swim at home all the time? 

There was cousin fun! How cute are these girls? 

And Logan had fun with Grandma B's jewelry too!

Saturday we had another yummy lunch at Barbiere's! 

Somebody was worn out! Similar to 2 years ago! Loooove a sleeping baby on me!!!

Them this morning we briefly got stuck in an elevator. I mean, the lights went out and everything. It was wild! Another Milwaukee memory! 

We had such a special time - with not enough pictures. But we are so glad we got to celebrate such a wonderful woman and the whole family. Special times for sure!
